harry potter pajamas quidditch
Is underwear optional in the wizarding world culturally speaking?(Harry Potter related of course)?

I’m sure you all remember Archie the old wizard in the Quidditch world cup, who was wearing women’s pajamas, when asked to dress as a muggle because as he said “I like a bit of a breeze around me privates”. So that would imply he’s accustomed to wearing his robes without underwear, but then again when James flipped Snape upside down, his underwear was clearly visible. What do you think, do most wizards (and witches :p) wear underwear underneath their robes, especially the pure-bloods who haven’t had much of a muggle influence in their lives?
@Proserpina sorry! but you had that, said you quit Y/A. -_-

You may be right. But like you said, it could be “optional”. In the “Deathly Hallow”, before they leave the burrow, Hermione does say to Ron that she’s almost done with packing and is waiting for his underpants to come from the wash – which means that Ron definitely wears them, and he’s a pureblood (even though a blood traitor), and usually clueless about the Muggle world.

It could also mean that things have changed over generations since Archie was a very old wizard, and things may have been different in his times.
