Are underwear an appropriate Christmas gift?
One of my best (guy) friends and I used to date about a million years ago. I’m not interested in dating him, but my friends occassionally tease me about his alledged interest in me. The two of us have never talked about it, but I doubt he’s into me like that.
I’m trying to buy him a Christmas gift that’s on the cheap side, but he’s notoriously hard to shop for. He does collect novelty boxer shorts, though, and it would be incredibly easy to find a funny set of Christmas ones that light up or something. But given that I have no interest in seeing him in his underwear under any circumstance, I think this kind of a gift might send a bit of a mixed message. What do you think? Is it inappropriate?
I know I’d be totally skeeved out if he got me underwear or a nightie or something, but I’m wondering whether guys just think about this sort of thing less.
I say don’t do it only because you know he’s interested in you. If you are at a total loss and that’s the only gift you can come up with, tell him something like you thought his next girlfriend might get a kick out it. (Just make up something less lame.)
